Castletown Beach, Caithness

This image comes from my earliest commissioned work, after graduating from Art College, which was to
document life in Caithness and Sutherland. I spent almost two years commuting between Kent and the Far North in
a caravanette, and got to know that landscape and the people there well.
My first book 'Life in Caithness and Sutherland' was produced from this work. In this photograph my aim was to capture the long
fingers of cloud stretching towards Orkney, contrasting with with the flagstone formation laid out across Castletown 'beach'.
