Bass Rock, East Lothian

The Bass Rock is a bit of a cliched image in East Lothian, however David Attenborough rightly described it as "one of the twelve wildlife wonders of the world." It is famous for its gannet colony and at the height of the breeding season is home to 150,000 birds. It can be seen from many points along the coast between North Berwick and Dunbar. I like it best from Ravensheugh Beach looking straight towards the light-house, as you can usually build some crashing waves into the foreground.

Bass Rock with lighthouse, seascape with breaking waves. Black and white
